Donut Pan:

Giant Birthday Cake Filled Donut Recipe
This recipe also makes two 8” cake rounds

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 eggs
1 cup strong black coffee (or 1 heaping tablespoon espresso powder dissolved in 1 cup water)
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 package Birthday Cake Oreos, crushed and mixed with sprinkles
¼ cup chocolate ganache (1/2 cup chocolate + ¼ cup boiling hot heavy cream – or use Nutella)
Rainbow Sprinkles

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter and flour donut pans
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, combine the eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and combine. Stir in the coffee. Batter will be thin.
4. Divide batter between the two pans, then bake for 45-50 minutes.
5. Let cakes cool, then level them off. Scoop out center of cakes and fill bottom layer with crushed Oreo pieces. Spread chocolate ganache on inside of top layer, and press in Oreos.
6. Sandwich cakes together, frost, and decorate.

Buttercream Frosting Recipe:

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, room temperature
3 cups powdered sugar
2-3 T milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Red/pink food coloring

Cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Add milk to reach desired consistency, then food coloring for a soft pink.
